I am a third generation artist. My inspiration and interest in art comes from a family background of painters and writers. I started painting seriously 30 years ago when I moved to Wheaton, Illinois, so I consider myself a late bloomer. Painting has become my passion, my addiction and I paint every day.
I enjoy painting because it gives me a feeling of energy, and excitement. I try to be spontaneous and transfer those feelings to the paper and canvas. It is my wish that those who come in contact with my artwork enjoy looking at it as much as I have enjoyed creating it, and are able to see the story behind the subject. The desire to paint was influenced by my grandmother whom I would watch sketch and paint for hours when I was a little girl.
My designs are rich with bold colors and loose. Nature is my favorite subject because I miss the vibrant array of color of my native tropical island. I continued my formal art education and have also studied with several well known Chicago professional artists. I teach at several art leagues in the Chicago suburbs, in cruises and in my home studio.
